　　节目以中国传统美食为内容载体，以中国老百姓幸福生活为情感切入，在表现中华美食的同时，展现中国人民在全面建成小康社会的成果下的美好幸福生活。该项目将围绕老百姓日常平凡的食材“面条”，按照“一城一面一群人”的思路，选取不同城市，从面条这种美食延展到与面条有关的人再延展到这座城市的文化发展，展现可口佳肴的同时，体现中华美食及中华文化的多样性与丰富性，以及不同地域的人们在与这些平凡食材相伴的日常，如何过着平凡又幸福的生活，从日常生活角度宣传这些独具特色的中国城市。
